Guy Hagi is the weather reporter on TV. He forecasts swells, sometimes it comes, sometimes it doesn’t. Today, nobody forecasted anything. If fact, it was supposed to be super small for the next week. Well, I wake up and see some lines out in the horizon. I knew it wasn’t flat, in fact, it was well overhead and perfect. I surfed this morning and only a few lucky people were out. It’s just one of those swells that came out of nowhere and if you were in the water this morning, you scored! One guy paddled up to me and said “Wow, we should thank Guy Hagi!” Haha. Thank you Guy Hagi!
OMG! I’ve been surfing with this energetic couple for the last 3 years and I’m so amazed on their energy! Nonaka-san and Rina-chan are amazing. They come to Hawaii to do the triathlon every year and surf with me the next day. This year, they did a 10km run followed by a 20km bike trail ride on Saturday, then on Sunday, they did a 1km swim, 10km run, and a 20km trail ride. Then they ran this morning before I picked them up. The waves were big but I knew they can handle anything. So we paddled out to the peak, and caught set after set. Then after I dropped them off, they went to hike Koko Head. OMG! Anyway, I want to congratulate Rina-chan for winning the triathlon yesterday! Rina-chan also is a train driver in Japan! Cool! Like I said the past 3 years, this couple is the most energetic couple in the world. Keep on running!
We went up to Tantalas today and like always, it was picture perfect!
Well, Season 4 of Hawaii 5-0 is filming now in Hawaii. They will be taking up the whole parking lot at the Yacht Harbor this week. Expect no parking, traffic, and a lot of frustrated surfers.
last, Kyle finally caught his 180lbs. big Ahi 2 days ago. He shared with me a slab and I’m sharing that with others. Here is Inaida-san’s Ahi/Maguro that will go over some hot rice. And I will make it for my breakfast tomorrow morning. Can’t wait!
Thank you all for a wonderful day!
