good morning from wakayama, japan. gosh, yesterday was like another dream if your a diver. kimura-san gave my dive buddy waka-san a call and the rest is history. get ready, jump on the boat, get japan’s best huge oysters, some ishidai, and be back in an hour with a cooler full of goodies. diving is my love. to be able to exercise, clear the mind, and bring home dinner can’t be beat. i use to be connected to the ocean from surfing but now that i spend so much time diving, i feel like the ocean is my home. there’s no where else i’d rather be….
when ever i come over to the kimura house, i eat healthy. fish, fish, and fish. and i love it, love it, and love it!!! by the way, the fish we got in fuji tasted pretty dam good. sashimi and nitsuke style!
atsuko-san is the best cook! if you can take a fresh, cut it up into sashimi, or make nitsuke, your good! thank you atsuko-san for always keeping us surfers/divers healthy!
if your invited to this house, your pretty much part of the family. just don’t even try to drop in and stay in my room. haha…
after a few beers, jacksan came out of the closet. jack daniels and happy coke? alright…..
in hawaii, we take shots. that’s the part of the aloha spirit i bring to japan! haha… i think we should call this the “Go-Naminori Jacksan Drive Thru Tour.” haha.. oh, check out that antique jack daniels guy sitting on the chair. kimura-san found that at some bar. i bet that would look really good on my shelf at home. haha…
if i lived in japan, i’d be a fisherman for sure. i’d surf when the waves are good, and i’d dive when the waves are small. that would keep me busy 365 days of the year. diving in japan and catching the things we catch is like diving for gold. seafood is really expensive here. but with my local fisherman friends, i get to enjoy japan’s finest seafood!!! these are what you call “local fisherman.” i want to thank each and every one of my fisherman friends in japan for sharing their culture, food, and excitement… can’t wait to go again….
