Behind Go-Naminori

208

good evening. the drive thru trip might be over for a few people, but not for me. i’m moving towards the waves now. see you back in the morning…
i won’t forget the day i met naoka. matsuo-san took me to his house in chigasaki. i walked in the small room and all i seen was a pillow, blanket, computer, and surfboard. naoka was sitting on his chair just smiling. i walked in there with this idea and from there, naoka took the idea and turned it into a place where we are today; GO-NAMINORI.
naoka spends hours and hours days in and days out sitting in a room in front of his computer. i didn’t know how that felt until i started doing the same thing. it’s a pretty demanding and stressful job that can take a toll on the body and soul. sometimes i really feel for the guy so i stopped pressuring him to do this, and to do that. to be able to do what you love, you better know what your doing. understand? i really feel that you can’t put your heart into something unless you know exactly how it works. how does it work? the only way to find out is to GO!
so when ever i come to japan, i plan to take naoka around with me. i want him to see first hand the impact of his hard work and talent has taken him. you think i’m happy when people walk up to me and say, “hey, i check go-naminori everyday!” yes i am. but i know that must make naoka feel happier. he’s the man behind and i want to show him the lifestyle he’s provided for all of us involved. making people happy, creating a good vibe, and connecting people to one another is the best feeling in the world.

as we move around, we work. we stop at the most bizarre places and discuss things you can’t discuss in a closed room. this is where ideas are born. when you can go outdoors in nature, your mind is so clear that ideas come from all directions. oh, i want to thank mari-chan for taking such awesome photos on the trip.

yes, it’s hard work. yes, it’s stressful. sometimes i go crazy working on my computer. i’m trying to balance out my life and i hope naoka can balance out his. if naoka is sitting behind his computer with a happy face and a positive energy, he’s going to produce a lot more. that i can guarantee….

for every job, there should be perks. this is one of them. i learned in college that if you take care of your employees, they will take care of you. i’m sure naoka is sitting in his office now after his 9 hour drive back to shonan reset, and ready to work! we all deserve a well balanced life and if you don’t have one, it’s never too late to start….

i want to thank naoka for his hard work in making thousands of peoples dreams come true… if it wasn’t for him, we wouldn’t be where we are today. and i also want to praise him on his hard work. working on the computer on the long drives, and sitting in the room working while everybody else was sleeping. there were absolutely no complaints. thanks dude…
