after the other days dive, i managed to get a few shells. my eyes don’t work that good looking for small things as it’s trained for years and years to look for big things. in fact, when i try to focus on the tiny shells, a shark could be circling me in attack mode and i won’t even know. haha. but i’m trying to focus as much as i can because i can’t wait until i find sunrise shell that is still connected together. that’s my dream. but for now, i’ll just have to get the scraps. here are some new ones going straight to my shell collection.
Brent is the master shell collector. i can’t believe how many good shells he always finds.
but the girl who stole the show was Crystal. she found so many sunrise shells! it was only her 4th time diving and she found the most. this girl makes some amazing jewelry out of these shells. and if you don’t know anything about sunrise shells, just let me say that it is the oceans gold! very high demand, and very high prices for these rare shells only found in hawaii.
look at the one still connected! i was trying to steal it from her. haha.
these things go for hundreds and hundreds of dollars at stores in hawaii. it’s everybody’s dream to have one.
then Amber is a professor at the University of Hawaii. a very intelligent woman, and a very good photographer. her photos were amazing!
coming in on the boat with such cool people was super fun. diving is just another world where you meet people from all parts of life. and it feels good driving home knowing you made some new friends. that’s what hawaii is all about!
