i want to thank my friend Scott for driving 3 hours, flat tire, long day, to pick us up from the airport. the first time i came to the philippines 10 years ago, i was picked up my government military army guys with guns. getting picked up by a friend is much better. by the way, i had to spend $150 to get my boards from hawaii to the philippines. ouch!
i met Scott Countryman 10 years on his boat we chartered here called “The King of Sports.” i went on 2 boat trips on his 110′ luxury catamaran and spent 2 weeks with Scott. got to really know this intelligent guy and we clicked right from the start. he’s a successful businessman that has so much knowledge. he pretty much knows everything! and i like to talk to people that know everything because i want to know everything too. anyway, we surfed some new secret surf spots back then and now we will be looking for more. the forecast looks good as we head to new spots that i can’t, and won’t say where. some things here in the philippines are better kept secrets and a friend of mine got death treats a few years back exposing secret surf spots.
yeah, you see the coolest things here. this is hawaii’s version of “The Bus” or japan’s version of “The Shinkansen.” haha.
Scott is building an incredible new boat right now. so tagging along with him buying supplies is pretty fun. this is the philippines Home Depot.
the van should be stocked, the boards are ready, and today is the official day of a 5 day road trip. i hope to find waves, culture, and experiences. i’m just going with the flow as i know i’m in good hands with Scott.
