what an awesome circle island tour with Satoko-san today. we surfed ala moana early in the morning. caught soooo many good waves, then headed on the road on this beautiful sunny day.
first stopped off in wahiawa to get some fresh poke and poi. the poke was made from a fish from this mornings auction. can’t get fresher than that!
i’ll put this ahi poke in my top #2 of all time. it was soooo good!
went to haleiwa to watch the waves. it was super good at 4′ and not too crowded.
then went to backdoor and seen some guys getting barreled. really good, but nothing compared to the barrels i got yesterday morning. haha.
then stopped by Romy’s for my favorite garlic shrimp plate.
Satoko-san is full japanese but looks tahitian? filipino? thai? and my friends think she’s local hawaiian. super nice island girl!
then went to jurassic park. blue sky, and green mountains. awesome!
then to lanikai beach. emerald water, white sand, blue sky, and coconut shawdows.
i encourage everybody to get a photo like this at lanikai beach. just such a special moment in hawaii that will be treasured forever.
then we went to a sacred hawaiian power spot on the way home on the east side and OMG, it’s another whole story. i actually got chills running down my spine. will tell you later.
thank you Satoko-san for another super fun day. see you on saturday for some more surfing and fun!
oh, the waves on the north shore came up this evening. going to be 8′ tomorrow morning with good conditions. HIC Pro at sunset beach should be ON, and the waves Pipeline/Backdoor should be ON too! happy days continue!
