check out this photo Satoko took on that dream trip to the maldives. the coolest freak of nature watching a gigantic dogtooth tuna moving in on bait fish. if i had my speargun, this would be sashimi for dinner. but since the maldives bans spearfishing, moments like this are just for viewing. and omg i was viewing some amazing things going on in the ocean. much better than watching the discovery channel.
when Hiyori-chan arrived in hawaii yesterday, i told her “ok, take off your shoes, you won’t be needing it anymore.” so she’s been wearing slippers and couldn’t believe she could wear slippers to school today. then when i picked her up this afternoon, she told me that they went hiking. hiking? omg! Hiyori-chan wore slippers in the muddy and raining mountains today while all of the other kids wore shoes. haha. we were laughing after. welcome to my world! the kids go ice skating on thursday and i better not forget to tell her to take a jacket. i know it will be cold, but nothing compared to ishinomaki cold.
Hiyori-chan’s suitcase was full of gifts from Naomi-san. Naomi-san knows what i like and this will all be in my happy stomach in 1 week. thank you Naomi-san and family! Hiyori-chan is fine here in hawaii and is enjoying the slow pace life. and the next time they go hiking, i’ll make sure she takes her shoes. haha. i was laughing when i seen her muddy feet today. i asked her what she wanted to do tomorrow after school and her answer was “go surfing!” so we are going surfing!
wow, the buoy just jumped up to 6′ at 21 seconds. the next huge swell will start showing tomorrow morning. i think this one could reach 20′! be careful and check back tomorrow morning. good night.
