in hawaii, christmas is a happy time of the year where the aloha spirit is at it’s best. everybody is so happy and smiling. kids looking forward to santa, adults looking forward to seeing the smiles. it’s christmas eve and santa will be coming tonight to deliver presents. the kids will wake up tomorrow morning and open presents. tomorrow is christmas and is a time to relax, enjoy your love ones, and smile all day long. i can’t wait to wake up!
making gingerbread houses is a must. you build it, you take a photo of it, and you eat it. Hiyori-chan and her first hawaiian gingerbread house creation. good job girl!
today was Hiyori-chan’s second time surfing. she did so well on the 11’0 so i put her on the 10’0 today. she did super good again riding so many long waves. it’s just natural talent and it won’t be long till Hiyori-chan is on a short board surfing ishinomaki with Aunty Ryoko!
yeah, the kids wanted to surf and snorkel so i took them out on the boat after i picked them up from school. today was probably the best day for both! super clean perfect size waves, and super crystal clear water.
what a beautiful smile. gosh, the more i look at Hiyori-chan, the more she looks like her mother Naomi-san. they have the exact same laugh when i tell them my jokes. haha.
then we go snorkeling at my super secret reef that has the most fish anywhere on the island of oahu. there’s even more fish than hanauma bay. we snorkel, we swim in schools of fish, we swim with turtles, and enjoy this beautiful afternoon playing in the ocean.
tomorrow the kids want to surf and snorkel again. it’s christmas day in hawaii so anything the kids want to do, we will do. this year is the first christmas in many years that i took a day off and i’m glad i did. i want to spend it watching the kids smile as that is the only present i want from santa. goodnight.
