wow, today was another beautiful day! i’m just waiting for the 10 days of heavy rain, the strong cold north wind days, the strong south/west wind days, and the super cold nights. but nothing even close has come. the weather is been absolutely perfect! it’s december and feels like august. small south swell today with perfect little waves. north shore still huge and going off. waves for every level surfer here on oahu. love it!
no, the sky doesn’t get any bluer than this. i look up and think the sky is fake. amazing.
surfed with Saori-san this morning. it was her first time surfing and she did such a great job! what a lucky girl to be living in hawaii for the past 2.5 years. we had lots to talk about today.
then i took her up the mountain to see another side of hawaii not too many people can experience. no tourists up at this secret point. just us and nature.
i use to drive 50 minutes to waipahu to eat at Highway Inn. now, they just opened one up in kaka’ako and i didn’t even know about it. Saori-san knows the owners and told me about them opening in town. i was so happy!
super clean and fresh hawaiian food. probably the cleanest and freshest on the island.
a nice open clean kitchen.
and they make fresh homemade lau lau’s. locally owned, and locally managed. want to thank Monica for the coconut cake! it was so good!
i ordered the combo plate with beef stew, macaroni salad, sweet potato, poi, and haupia. total was under $12.
thank you Saori-san for a fun morning surf. and thank you for telling me about my new favorite hawaiian food restaurant. i’ll be going there again soon!
