if the waves stay small like this, i think mason ho will upset a lot of top surfers. nobody in the contest knows vals reef better than him. this is pretty much where he learned how to surf. i seen him find a nice little barrel….

**they will probably finish the event tomorrow. i hope this is a learning experience for all the young up and coming pros. yes, even at sunset beach, mother nature doesn’t cooperate during contests. you have to be versatile and be ready for anything. so surf when it’s good, and when it’s bad because you never know what’s going to happen during the contest. and if you want to be on top, you have to be ready…
