i pull up at the moniz house at 6am. it’s pitch dark. we drive towards the east side and as soon as we take the turn around hanauma bay, we all see something that none of us ever seen before. all the islands fronting the sunrise. i’ve passed by here hundreds of times and never seen what i seen this morning. the air was crisp and cool, and molokai seemed like a short swim away… i wouldn’t want to start of my day any different….
people think i have the dream job. yes i do. to be able to shoot a huge roxy project with my family is a dream. my niece the roxy girl model, my sister the stylist/mom, and me the photographer. look for these photos all around japan! thanks roxy for giving me this golden opportunity. thanks kelia for putting up with your crazy uncle, and thanks sister for being a great assistant..
**by the way, sandy beach was going off today. there were 2 guys out surfing perfect waves all morning. nobody knew there were waves. if it was any other job, i would have said, “chotto matte kudasai” and went surfing. tomorrow is going to be HUGE on the north shore and i’m looking forward to that…
