good morning. the honolulu marathon is happening right now so good luck trying to get to the beach in town. the waves are going off and there is no access to the beach. a long time ago, i parked my car at ala moana shopping center, walked across to ala moana park, and surfed with nobody around. diamond head will be perfect today with nobody out. there is one way to get out but that’s a little secret. i’m going north!! have a nice day….
i want to thank masato-san from Honuya and Lanui in Akita, Japan for sending this wonderful photo. people like you make me super happy to be a part of Go-Naminori. thank you always for the support. this is the first snow of the year in akita which happened yesterday. i’m keeping this one on my wall. and hey masato-san, your coming to hawaii the end of january? perfect timing! most of my friends from japan should be here so that ramen party you mentioned would be much appreciated. maybe i’ll book a hotel room somewhere and have a big ramen party for lunch? then maybe i’ll call chef craig sako and ask to prepare a 5 star dinner for us? do i hear a Go-Naminori Party in the making? i think so… this one will have to be invitation only…. stay tuned….
**last year when i went to the mentawai’s, we took a dingy into the macaroni resort surf camp. yes, the same one that got wiped out from the last tsunami. it’s sad to even think that such a beautiful camp can disappear just like that. tokura-san, timmy, hayato, vikki, and i got to experience what a lot of people can’t, and won’t experience anymore. i’m hoping that they rebuild it bigger and better than ever….
