i pulled up early morning to load up Mayuki and when i was walking in the parking lot, a lot of people thought i was weird. a cooler, fishing poles, and the biggest gun you can ever imagine.
this morning was training day. i have a big tuna trip coming up soon with Kyle so we set aside a few days to fine tune our equipment so there are no excuses. luckily we trained today because a huge 40lbs. ono swam up to me and my speargun malfunctioned. the ono was very lucky because i didn’t have full control of the gun i used today. next time, that ono will be sashimi! Kekoa came along as dive partner and so did my nephew Isaiah.
i was telling Kekoa about how i feel when i’m on a boat. just freedom, relaxation, and happiness. i just love the nature. he feels the same way too.
we went pretty far today and got to spend the beautiful day connecting with the ocean. Kekoa and Kyle were blue water diving and Isaiah went to swim to watch them. it was a big day for Isaiah as the ocean was rough and wild. for a few moments, i thought he was going to get sick but he held strong and pulled through. he caught fish, he seemed to have a good time, and i’m sure he will be fishing a lot more in the future.
coming back is always the hardest. tired, sunburned, and dehydrated. barely enough energy to make it to our cars. thank you to my dive buddies for a fun and safe day in the ocean.
i was really proud of Isaiah today. he’s going on a mentawai boat trip this summer and after today, i’m sure he will have a lot more confidence in the wild ocean. he caught the best fish and i’m sure he’s eating a very fresh and healthy dinner tonight. as for me, i left my house this morning at 7am and just got home now at 9pm. i can’t wait to close my eyes, dream, and wake up to a new tomorrow! good night.
and last, want to wish Hikaru-san a very happy birthday! may all your dreams come true this year! see you soon.
