i’ve been watching the boys surfing in the world championships in equador. so cool to see Seth and Josh representing hawaii in such a great way. 2 hawaiian/japanese boys on the top of the world. go boys!

if you know me, you know i’m a very impatient person. fishing takes patience and i’m trying to learn how to be patient. after 10 minutes yesterday, i wanted to quit fishing and go diving. but before i left the harbor, i told myself, “don’t quit until you get a good fish.” so i tried, got frustrated, and almost gave up. then BAM!!! i hooked a fish and knew it was a good one by the way it was fighting. this prize fish is called a Kagami and it’s very rare. i’ve speared only 2 in my life and see one maybe once in every 3 years. it was the first one i caught fishing so i was very happy. and this happens to be very good sashimi. now i will officially quit fishing! haha.

Isaiah has patience. he tried and tried all morning but couldn’t catch anything. then finally at the end of day, he hooked fish after fish. the bottom 2 fish are called Nabeta. the most prized and delicious fish from hawaii. it’s so good that fisherman won’t give it away or sell it so you can’t find it anywhere. if you want to eat Nabeta, you have to catch it yourself or have a good friend give you one. i was stoked for Isaiah.
