i haven’t been out to the east side for a while. it felt like i was on another island or something. it was beautiful!!! i really wanted to surf, i really wanted to shoot, and i really wanted to dive today. but i think i made the right choice….
every 3 years, i take my lifeguard test, cpr test, and first aid test. it’s a necessity for the work i do because anything can happen in my office. and if something happens, i don’t want to just stand there helplessly. so this morning, i dedicated myself to learning from the best…
and where else would you want to learn how to save lives? in a building? in a classroom? no way. this is where i learn. dennis salas has been lifeguarding in hawaii since i started surfing. he is my lifeguard teacher and i feel pretty confident on the skills he teaches me. i don’t think anybody can add up the lives he saved here in hawaii….
dennis is on the right side of me. we had a great group of hawaiians down there today. plenty of kindness, and plenty of ALOHA!! thanks dennis and the boys for the great learning experience today….
