it was so nice to go up today to one of the last japanese tea houses left in hawaii. i’ve been here many of times for parties, weddings, and dinners and i just love the tradition, food, and people. Natsunoya Tea House opened back in 1921 so it’s going to be a hundred years old soon!!! japanese culture and tradition continues.
Kellen Kurisu is my best buddy Candace Inouye’s son. Candace and I go back so far as we met at 12 years old. been the best of friends ever since. Kellen just graduated from Moanalua High School and is on his way into the real world. going to college on the mainland and i’m super proud of this fine young man. and also super proud of Candace for raising her kids as perfectly as can be.
what a good looking kid. 5th generation japanese american and holding on to the japanese bloodline. congratulations Kellen! i wish you the best future ahead of you. be happy and make sure you keep your precious mother happy too.
OMG, Natsunoya Tea House is like a dream for me. super cool seeing geisha’s walking all over and getting served by them. next time i go there, i’m going to take my samurai sword. haha.
Holli and Candace i’ve known my whole life. i wouldn’t be where i am without these 2 wonderful women. they keep me on track, keep me in place, and keep me from doing anything stupid because i don’t want to disappoint either of them. love you girls!
