i was at home working on a project. a project to catch aku or katsuo. i went to 3 fishing stores, bought the supplies, talked to some friends, and put together a creation.
next time i see birds in the ocean, i’m going to let out my hand lines and hopefully catch a few akus! this should work!
OMG, i was totally looking forward to dinner last night. my favorite sushi restaurant in hawaii! by far the best, and by far the best. yeah, i meant the best of the best. look at this piece of ahi or tuna! you won’t find this kind of quality in hawaiian waters, you have to go to japan to get the best of the best.
on the left is from Sado, Japan. on the right is from Miyazaki, Japan. both good, but i think Miyazaki melted a little faster in my mouth so i declare it the winner!
the fish have certificates of origin. amazing culture!
this part of the tuna was my favorite. it’s a very small section of the fish that most people in hawaii throw away so i won’t say where it is. i know exactly where it’s from and next time my friend is finished cutting up a tuna, i’m going to cut this piece out and take it home. leave it in the refrigerator and cure for 5 days and eat it sushi style. omg, so dam good!
wanted to welcome back Inaida-san and Yuki-san! i spent 1.5 of the past 3 years with them and had some amazing experiences and great memories. we just surf, eat good food, drink, and have a great time. that’s how life should be. thank you Inaida-san for another amazing dinner!
