can you believe there is a solid south swell in town? i surfed bowls with tsutsumi-san yesterday morning and not too many surfers were around. i guess nobody knew. today, expect record crowds. all the laniakea/chuns surfers will probably stay in town today. GO-NAMINORI!!!
if you know me, i like to do anything and everything. and when you do anything and everything, you better be prepared for anything and everything. for the past 6 years, i’ve been certified by the American Red Cross for STANDARD FIRST AID, CPR/AED FOR LIFEGUARDS, and LIFEGUARDING. i’m also certified by the DNLR (Division of Boating & Ocean Recreation) as a Blue Card holder SURF INSTRUCTOR. let me tell you, getting all this certification wasn’t easy. it took time and hard work and now that it’s done, i feel better prepared when i’m in hawaii, or traveling around the world. whether i’m teaching surfing, or surfing, or diving, i’m always looking around. no, not for hot chicks, i’m looking for bad situations of situations that can turn out bad. there aren’t many people in hawaii certified and i’m glad to be one of them. i hope everybody enjoys the ocean safely. wanted to thank tammy and tony moniz for pushing me into getting certified, and to the veteran lifeguards that trained me. mahalos….
** a friend asked me the other day what makes a hawaii surf instructor certified or not certified. those 4 cards are what you need and it’s mandatory to teach surfing in hawaii.
