good evening. wow, an amazing day of kids surfing lesson. i surfed 2 rounds with kids aging from 3-9 years old. 6 kids, 3 from japan, 3 from hawaii. 2 first timers, and 4 veterans. just to see the smiles on their faces was priceless. i heard the waves on the north shore was pretty good this morning but i wouldn’t have traded the world for what i experienced today. barrels and photos on the north shore will always be there, but todays experience for the kids are hard to come by. i hope sharing the ocean with these kids today makes a positive impact on their lives to come….
after 70 days in hawaii, kenji sahara went home today. great photos, great surfing, and great hawaiian memories! otsukaresama deshita!!!
when i left the airport, i was thinking to myself “gosh, i’ve been here so many times in the past 2 months. and the funny thing is that i didn’t even go anywhere? weird….”
for every morning in hawaii, there is a different face on every sunrise. today’s was the kind that takes your breath away….
