good morning. on our trip to palau, do you know what my job was? it was to spear smaller fish, cut it up in the water, and try to draw in the bigger fish so the guys with the big guns can shoot them. in hawaii, it’s ok because you’ll see a shark here and there. but in palau, it’s freaky because there are sharks everywhere. i must have seen over 200 sharks in our 1 week of diving. some cool and mellow, and some really aggressive. you could see them on the bottom and as soon as you spear a fish, they go into a frenzy and try to eat the fish right off your spear, or out of your hand. definitely spooky, but at the same time, cool. one of the guys that came on our trip was scared of sharks but after our trip, sharks were just like another fish swimming in the ocean. anyway, back to my job. my job was to chase the sharks away and keep them away from fish that was speared. some fish made it to the boat, some didn’t. i got incredible video on that trip. stay tuned….
if your scared of sharks and want to overcome that fear, come diving with us. i use to watch people swimming with sharks on the discovery channel when i was a kid and thought those guys were crazy! now, we’re doing the same thing, except we’re feeding them. it’s pretty cool when you think about it….
this is what happens if you don’t spear a fish right. the sharks get it. i shot this with my fisheye camera so imagine how close, and how big those sharks are? i had my speargun in my right hand, my camera in my left hand, and my heart pumping as fast at it can. dangerous, exciting, and crazy….
