was stoked to watch the contest today. i’m totally so proud of my 3 nephews. all putting their names in the world’s elite surfing club. watched all 3 heats and was stressed out. Joshua just couldn’t get another good wave so he lost. Isaiah squeezed by. and the youngest Seth, came back in the final minute from last to first. The waves were so hard and tricky today. so just getting through round 1 is awesome.
i think i lost half of my hair watching this heat. it was so stressful down to the last second. luckily, Isaiah got second and advanced.
Seth’s heat was more stressful. he was losing by far until the young 16 year old boy caught the biggest wave and did the biggest turns. he ended up getting the 2nd highest score in the whole contest today! i was screaming of joy! so stoked 2 of the 3 made it to round 2. i’m so proud of all of them!!!
here in hawaii, it’s peace and quiet. but in the rest of america, there is protest everywhere! a white police officer shoots a black kid in the back and kills him. the poor kid wasn’t supposed to die. the police officer was supposed to go to jail but last night, the judge said “you are not guilty!” so he’s a free man. unbelievable. the whole country of america is pissed off! protests everywhere.
white, black, or what ever color you are. everybody joining together to make a statement.
does the justice system in america work? thousands of people don’t think so.
anyway, wintery weather continues. i love to finally use a blanket at night. keep warm!
