i was up at the elderly home to watch a music performance. hawaii’s top flute players volunteering their time to put some smiles on their elders faces. something i always wanted to see.
i couldn’t believe how clean it was. built in the 1940’s and is home to some WW 2 veterans, even guys from the 100th Infantry live there.
good job flute girls! you girls did great and i’m so happy to see you put smiles on so many faces.
i was up there for 2 hours and loved every minute. the residents staying there are my grandparents age and it really made me think of them as i listened to the beautiful music. then i thought about myself when i get old. would i want to stay there? well, if i did, i’d probably be the loudest grandpa in there. and i’m sure we’d have our own little gang sneaking in whisky and stuff. haha. but at $10,000/month for the cost to stay there, i don’t think i’ll be a resident. how do people actually afford that kind of expenses?
