Tohoku Cucumber…

i forgot to post this blog on april 14, 2011. a little over a month after the tsunami. makes me realize how uneducated this world is on radiation. i had no idea back then, but still am confused on how much radiation my body can take. watching everybody walking around in white suits and masks while we walk around in plain clothes? was that crazy? i still don’t know and will probably never know. all i know is that there is still an evacuation zone @ 20 km outside the nuclear plant and it’s almost a year after. why? when will this all end?

before i left hawaii, i was telling myself, “no way i’m drinking the water, no way i’m sitting on the soil because that’s where the radiation collects, no way i’m going around without a mask, and no way i’m eating any fruits and vegetables from tohoku.” i ended up doing all those “no ways.” even though i wasn’t there for that long, you seem to get comfortable with things around you. good? or not good? gosh, i would like to hear more expert opinions on radiation because even thought i’m researching about it everyday, there are so many unanswered questions. one of my main question is “why is my dosimeter counter counting the highest levels of radiation when i was in tokyo?” i’m not trying to scare you, but i’m not joking either…..

we get hungry, we pull over, and we eat….
