when ever i go to foreign countries, i try to live like the locals. eat their food, drink their drinks, and laugh their laughs. i’ve been to bali a lot of times. sometimes to surf, and other times to explore.
so i drive by a local intersection in the outskirts of bali, i smell something good, i pull over, i order what i see, i don’t know what i’m eating, it taste good, but i still don’t know what i’m eating… i thought it’s better just not to ask. some people think i’m eating pork, others think i’m eating dog. what ever it was, it was pretty dam good. so good that i went back there 3x.
there are beads everywhere in bali. i guess this is where a lot of designers buy their supplies from.
this snake was alive! and big! and pretty soft skin. the guy asked me if i wanted to carry it around my neck. i said “ok”, he said “10 dollars please”, i said “not ok.” i forgot that everything in bali has a price.
have you ever been to Tanahlot? gosh, after 15 years of going to bali, i finally had the chance to go check it out. and yes, it’s a pretty magical place! go check it out before it gets over touristy.
i think i’m ready for some adventure. i want to explore again. where? i have no clue. but when i do decide, i’m going to live like the locals. see you there.
