when i arrived at atlanta airport, i was so thirsty so i drank water from the water fountain. yuck!!! it didn’t taste good at all! seemed like there were chemicals in the water. it’s times like this that make me appreciate the pure freshness of hawaiian water.
a $10 sandwich from honolulu airport for dinner, then a $12 breakfast at atlanta airport. so expensive!
when i got to el salvador, the first thing i saw was Subway and Pizza Hut???? OMG! i was shocked!
but seeing the palm trees made me happy. the sky looked exactly like hawaii.
i’m so happy my surfboards made it. i hear so many horror stories about surfers arriving to places without their boards. that sucks!
the TSA inspected my board bag. i’m sure they had a hard time opening up all that duck tape. haha.
SAL is San Salvador!
the 40 minute drive to the coast line was cool. just people watching like usual.
such a simple life people live here. so mellow and so relaxed. just what i was looking for.
my driver was blasting his radio with all 80’s music. then he started singing. it was like free karaoke! haha. he couldn’t speak english, i can’t speak spanish. so it was a very interesting body language drive.
go to my place, changed, surfed, did yoga, drank a beer, made a lot of friends, and had a great evening. everybody told me the waves have been shitty all year. today was the first day in a long time since the waves came overhead. when i was out, it was way overhead, almost double. i broke my leash on my 3rd wave, came in, drank a beer, and watched the most beautiful sunset i’ve ever seen. made a local friend, he’s picking me up tomorrow morning at 5:30am to guide me and it’s supposed to be the best day of the year. i can’t wait! good night from el salvador!
