there’s 2 ways to get to el salvador from hawaii. one is HNL to LAX to SAL. that is the short way. i took the long way HNL to ATL to SAL. flew through some time zones, then back. maybe that’s why i’m so jet lagged?
i’m becoming a professional when it comes to traveling. been doing it for so long so i better know what i’m doing. nobody is there to guide me, i’m a one man team so if i screw up, i’m screwed up.
finally arriving at my hotel was rewarding. i’m staying at one of the nicest places here. it’s just so clean, so beautiful, and so cheap.
take a look at my palace! the beach is steps away and so is the little town.
$65/day is very expensive for el salvador standards. stayed here for 2 nights so going to downgrade into something normal for the rest of my stay.
i’m sure going to miss my hammock.
mornings are glassy, then it gets onshore around 9am. then glassy again in the evenings.
some pretty cool Surfer/DJ’s on the beach. ice cold beers, loud music, sunsets, laughing, and making friends. that’s what backpack traveling is all about. shaka DJ!
meet my new el salvador friend Felipe. this local guided me to a very traditional dinner. it was amazing!
PuPuSu i think it’s called? very very delicious.
dinner for 2 cost me $9. and that included 4 beers!
Pilsener is the el salvador national beer. taste super good and it’s only $1.50 a bottle. this past weekend had an election so you couldn’t drink alcohol in the whole country for 3 days. so when i came the first day of drinking again, everybody was looking for the first night in 4 to get a cold beer again. it was a party all night long. so funny!
