went out for a late snack at my favorite late snack place!
every night it’s packed because it’s probably the number 1 date spot on the island.
welcome to Bubbies Mochi Ice Cream! the best of the best.
owners of yachts are prepared for the storm. always a scary thought when your boat is floating in the water when a big storm is coming.
my friend Candace gave me this many years ago.
a bottle opener! just what i needed for the late evening sunset beer sessions. thanks again Candace!
this world famous competition free diver went free diving with her friends and never made it back up. the search for her body is off and now she died the way she probably would have wanted to die. it really makes me think about myself. about what would i want if i went missing in the ocean. here it is: if i go missing, please look for me for only 2 days. if you can’t find me, forget it. i’ve either died in the place i want to die, or i made it to some secluded island and am living off the resources with a mermaid. either way, i’ll be ok. thank you.
and last, my Grandpa Osaki’s family is from hiroshima. when ever i asked him about the war, all he use to say was “in a war, nobody wins.” that was it as he would glance into space. Grandpa was here in hawaii when pearl harbor was bombed. and Grandpa was in hawaii when his home town of hiroshima was bombed. it must have been so hard for him to go through that in his young adult life as a japanese/american. it’s 70 years later and i hope there will be no war ever again. like Grandpa said “nobody wins.”
