“Sewage spill now estimated at 500,000 gallons; Visitors urged to stay out of Waikiki water!”
this was the headlines on the news last night before i went to sleep.
omg, i was watching the news and couldn’t believe it! i drove by ala moana and knew about the sewage spill but didn’t realize how much actually spilt. over 500,000 gallons or 1,892,706 liters of raw sewage overflowed into the streets and ocean. all the poop water coming out of the streets at ala moana shopping center. it was stink, and it was disgusting!
ala moana beach park looked like a big toilet!
and all that sewage was spilling right into the ocean. i saw this with my own eyes and i couldn’t believe it.
and i saw people swimming and surfing yesterday at ala moana and waikiki. the tourist didn’t know about it. i felt so sorry for them.
they even closed ala moana beach park because they had to disinfect the sidewalks too. the whole place was stinky! when i drove through, i seen some of my friends surfing there! unbelievable!
by the evening, the news finally went around. only had a few people swimming in the public toilet.
and get this!!!! even more sewage spills around the island!!! luckily i went to a very clean and safe place yesterday.
and here is the weather for the rest of the week. more rain, more sewage spills, and more disaster. now i really hope to get the next flight out of here.
for those of you who surfed yesterday, please shower good. and please stay out of the water for the next few days from waikiki to kakaako. it takes 3-4 days for the currents, waves, and winds to wash all this sewage away. it’s not worth any wave to take a chance of getting sick.
