went to the hardware store early this morning to buy some odds and ends. just keeping up and making sure everything is in top condition. when you’re in the middle of the huge pacific ocean on a tiny island like oahu, you can’t cut corners. one mistake and you will be lost at sea. it happens all the time. so it’s my sole responsibly to make sure everyone is safe.
and if you haven’t shopped at a marine store before, you have no idea how expensive everything is. the money just adds up and never ends. luckily i’m doing things myself and saving the bulk of the expenses, which is labor.
Mayuki was custom built from the shell. everything in her was customized ordered by me from top to bottom. i made sure it was safe for my passengers. there are 2 separate motors, 2 separate gas tanks, 2 separate controls, 2 separate electricals, and 2 separate batteries. each side totally separate from the other. and she still can fly 20 knots on one motor so if something happens to the other, it’s still super safe and secure. one of the safest boat in the ocean!
then went for a test drive. she’s running like the beauty she is!
it was another picture perfect day here in hawaii. surfed, dove, and smiled. great day!
high surf advisory up for north/west shores. tomorrow the World Cup at Sunset Beach will 95% be on. then probably finish the finals on thursday. exciting heats ahead. small south swell continues. super stoked!
