every time i see a boat on the reef in hawaii, i get upset because it’s not good for the reef. but now that my dream is to own a big boat, i don’t get too upset because it might happen to me someday. haha.
i was surfing the rights at bowls with friends. i knew when seth and josh were going to surf their heat so i paddled over to watch. imagine uncle kirby sitting in the channel yelling “GO SETH! GO JOSHUA!” the other kids must have been freaking out and my 2 little nephews must have been so embarrassed. haha.
then pipeline charger takayuki wakita’s son taichi was in the same heat as seth so of course i was cheering him on too. such a mellow and cute kid!
here’s uncles comments for the kids surfing:
seth: good solid surfing. you made no mistakes and surfed smart. good job.
josh: i’m proud of you finally paddling to the peak and taking the best waves. yes, you are twice as big as anybody your age so use it to your advantage. stop pulling into barrels you can’t make. all you have to do is take off, do 5 turns, and you will get a perfect 10.
taichi: great speed surfing. quick and fast just like your dad. next time, go outside and get the good waves. hassle the hawaiians and if they say anything, tell them who your dad is. and if they still say anything, tell them who your uncle is. great surfing kid!
