this morning i went out to hawaii kai for the sunrise and watched all the boats getting ready to go out for a day of fishing.
the new years is coming up so everybody wants to get fresh fish. ahi costs $25/lbs. from the fish market. but if you catch your own, people think it will cost less? add up the food, beer, and gas for the day, you’re looking at over $300. if you get a fish, it will still cost you $25/lbs. and if you don’t, you will be in a big hole. welcome to ahi fever! haha. not for me.
today was a picture perfect day!
went surfing with Tomoko-san this afternoon. it was her first time surfing and you should have seen how many good waves she caught! good waves, good smiles, and good time. thank you Tomoko-san for the picture perfect day of surfing!
i use to play here a lot when i was a kid. remember jumping over the fence and swimming in the pool. all the elders use to tell us that there were big sharks in there. the waikiki natatorium closed because the city didn’t have enough money to upkeep it.
this is what it use to look years ago when they first built it. it was an amazing salt water olympic size swimming pool.
there were events and famous people including the Duke competed in there.
don’t you just love the old school bikinis?
anyway, it is still closed after decades. it’s falling apart and i heard they plan to knock it down. that is very sad!
