i slept late last night but found a way to get up. woke up at 5am and really wanted to watch they sunrise on this beautiful christmas day. but before that, i saw the christmas full moon! last was 40 years ago so if you missed it, you missed it. it was amazing!
pulled up to watch the sunrise at 6am and just sat in my car listening to christmas music, singing along, and watching the sky turn colors. it was freaking amazing!
then the sun creeped up over the horizon. omg, i had chicken skin!
then as i was driving home singing aloud with all the christmas music, i was just so happy to have this special day to start off with the gold!
last night was hilarious. we had 2 gingerbread houses and made a contest for the best result.
team 1 was the adults. very very confident, almost over confident. haha.
team 2 was the kids. so relaxed and calm.
i started the time limit of 30 minutes. then the teams went to work. i was going back and forth observing the progress.
this is the final result for the kids team. looked very nice and detailed.
this was the adults final house. umm, no comment.
here is what i thought. the kids house was very nice and creative. loved the marshmallow snowman and chocolate house in the front yard. as for the adults house on the right, umm. what is that corn doing there? and what are those things on the side? come to find out, Naomi-san said that was to hold up the house from falling. haha.
great job kids! you are all winners. as for the adults, umm, better go back to school. haha.
there is a christmas song by Henry Kapono called “Merry Christmas to You.” ever since it came out decades ago, it’s always been my favorite song. here is how it starts and i really feel this way. i really think about all my friends all around the world. gosh, i miss them all! Merry Christmas to all of you!
