it’s incredible how much family can impact family. we were at my sisters house for new years dinner talking about surfing. talking about all hanging out at the beach surfing together. then Isaiah comes out and gives Noah a surfboard, and tells him let’s go surfing together. the next day, Noah went to meet Isaiah in waikiki. he carried this board on top his head like a true surfer, smiling the whole way.
then i get the photos from my brother yesterday. omg, i was so happy i almost cried. my nephew Isaiah and my grand nephew Noah sharing the same wave.
it’s incredible how surfing can bring the family so close together. Isaiah will be Noah’s surf hero for sure! i just love moments like this how the ocean can bring us all so close together.
and speaking about the ocean, yesterday was amazing. just ask Kaneko-san all about it.
no rain, no rainbows. that’s why we love the rain! and the crazy thing is i saw this for the past 5 days straight here in hawaii.
Kaneko-san’s been surfing for 10 years, but yesterday he told me “i finally feel like a real surfer!” this was his first wave in hawaii and he kept on smiling and yelling “this is amazing!!!!” i was surfing on the side of him enjoying the priceless moment.
i meet the coolest people each and every day. people from all walks of life. we are all different in our ways, but once we hit the ocean, we are all equal. and you know what? it’s all good!
then i took the 5 kids surfing in the afternoon. some surfed on their own, some wanted to tandem. either way, surfing is surfing. i had a blast for another day of 6 hours in the ocean. so many happy faces and so many golden smiles. i will never forget each and every one of them. nothing in this world is more satisfying than that.
