wow! check out this wave!!! i’ve been teaching Ikuko-san how to surf for a couple of years and i couldn’t believe how good she got! she lives in hokkaido so hardly gets to surf the freezing cold waves. this was her first wave yesterday and she just charged it! i thought she was going to go straight but she did a huge bottom turn. really???
then she did a turn right on the face of the head high wave. omg! i couldn’t believe it.
then on the same wave, she did a few cross steps. unbelievable! perfect wave and perfect surfing.
then she surfed super strong and confident for the rest of the 3 hour session. putting the rail in the water and letting the board flow!
great job surfing Ikuko-san. i am very proud of your improvements! you surfed 10x better than the last time we surfed in november. it must be the image training. keep it up and you will be walking to the nose real soon. and yes, see you soon.
then we were so hungry so went to eat black bean noodles. my favorite!

waves still good! north and south going off. no wind all week so perfect conditions! this is turning out to be the best 2016 ever! haha.
