it’s my first travel of the year and i was really looking forward to this day. two reasons, one is i’m doing a transit on the way to my destination in japan, and a layover on the way back. just that is exciting to me because i feel like i haven’t been to japan in years. so i jumped on my bike and flew to the airport with a big smile.
needed the time to just get on a plane and do nothing. most people don’t like long 9 hour flights, but i love it. it’s my time to myself to do what i want. opened up the new free surf magazine and started reading it.
flipped some pages and seen this beautiful spread of my nephew Joshua Moniz. i’m so proud of this kid! nice pipeline barrel Josh.
Josh just putting more stamps of the world known Moniz name around the world.
then flipped a few more pages and seen Takayuki Wakita in a big pipeline barrel! so stoked for Wakita representing japan in such a good way. one of the coolest guys you will ever meet.
the second reason i was really looking forward to this trip was because my best friend was coming with me. it’s been 11 long years since the last time Carter and i traveled together. i’m really looking forward to this trip with him. when he asked me last month, “where are you going to go?” i told him, “only the wind will take us there. so just hold on.” haha. Carter is really organized and a well planner so this will be new to him. where we go, where we will stay, and what we will do i still all up in the air. just going with the flow is what we’re going to do.
transit in narita airport. connecting flight out of japan was full so had to stay the night. i’m not too bummed at that because japan is my favorite place to get stuck at. heading back to the airport to try go get a flight out today. and we both don’t mind getting stuck here again. have a wonderful day!
