from the time i get off the airplane, to walking to my hotel, to eating dinner, and everything else, i was approached by about 7 people talking to me in the filipino language. i shake my head and say “i’m not filipino.” they laugh and say “omg, i thought you were 100% filipino!” Carter is on the side cracking up. haha.
love the culture here. just interesting street food everywhere. tasty and very cheap.
average price for street food is .75 cents or 85 yen. so cheap so have to try it!
$45/night for a room is pretty good! very clean and very comfortable. got in to the philippines pretty late and got up early. 4am to be exact. started researching bus/airplane/train schedules and trying to figure out where will be our best bet to get good waves and how to get there. the philippines is far back in technology and transportation so it can get frustrating getting around. probably jumping on a very long bus ride to the ocean and once i jump in, everything will be worth it. gotta get going. have a wonderful day.
last, want to congratulate Keoni Yan for winning the WSL at sunset beach. such a cool tahitian kid that deserves his first big win!
