Costa Pacifica is the most luxury hotel on Sabang Beach. after switching over from the most unluxury hotel next door, it was a very happy upgrade.
this hotel is located right in front of the best beach break in Baler. if i had to sum up this hotel in one word, i would say “gorgeous.”
and if i could sum this hotel up in 2 words, the other one would be “expensive.” haha. going from the most cheapest one day to the most expensive the other was a great experience. made me realize the huge scale of difference in quality of vacation. and after this, i can honestly say i like the more expensive way. you only live once right? and if you want to know the difference in prices, it’s $20/day for next door, and it’s $220 for right here.
lying in bed overlooking the pacific ocean as i wake up. right in front about half the world away, i can see hawaii! haha.
i’d say Sabang beach is a very good beach break. even when it’s super onshore, it’s still fun and rip able. and when the winds die, it’s a very high quality beach break. perfect waves for all levels. it felt good to get wet out there. very convenient. and i know i’ll be bringing my friends here in the near future.
the way to travel around here is by tricycle. grab the most experienced local surfers, squeeze in, strap the surfboards to the top, and go searching!
Carter and I came on this trip last minute. i told him before we left hawaii, “hey, this is the philippines so we can either score, or get skunked. there is no in-between. so just have an open mind and let’s enjoy this trip.” ended up scoring unreal waves with nobody around for miles. i’ve already been getting the requests from other friends wanting to come here. i’ll tell you the same thing so be prepared to score, or get skunked. but with all my resources, friends, and knowledge of the philippines accumulated for the past 14 years, you have a very good chance of scoring the best waves of your life! high risk, high return!
