first of all, i’d like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Asayama-san!!! today’s his 67th birthday and we had a full day of fun!
i’m teaching Asayama-san how to slow down. just take it easy and live the hawaiian lifestyle. this is his first wave on his 67th birthday and he was so stoked! i could hear him yelling when he was taking the drop. paddling back out and saying “this is so fun!”
Asayama-san only gets to surf once a week in japan so this trip is pretty different for him. surfing everyday for 14 days will make you so confident, strong, and very happy. so far, so good!
gosh, we are totally comfortable with each other already. making jokes, laughing, and just having a great time. Asayama-san Would Go!
surfing everyday, you meet the coolest people. they become your friends, they become your surf mates, and they become close to you. we were all having a fun time in the water and decided to all eat lunch together. so instead of the 2 of us, there was the six of us. the more, the merrier!
this is by far the biggest and cheapest steak in hawaii. Asayama-san loves steak and wanted to try here. can you believe he ate the whole thing? omg!
Aoi-kun ate the whole thing too. and so did his mom Chifumi-san. unbelievable! in fact, we all finished it all!
then it was time to say our bye bye’s. but the ocean looked way too inviting so we went out for a ride. went out to the deep blue sea, seen a whale jumping, snorkeled, and had an amazing time.
Asayama-san checks my blog a lot so he knows who Aoi-kun is. now, he doesn’t know the digital Aoi-kun, he knows the real Aoi-kun.
i just love to teach the kids new things. i don’t ask “do you want to drive?” i just say “hey, you drive.” learning by experience. that’s the best way.
maybe one day when i get too old and can’t take out Mayuki by myself, one of the kids can take me out. that would be a dream to me.
headed to my secret turtle spot. and yes, they were all home. one even came up to with Asayama-san a happy birthday! he was so surprised! haha.
when we were driving home, Asayama-san told me “today was an amazing birthday.” catching good waves, making friends, eating good food, free diving, and enjoying nature. yes, it was an amazing day for all of us!
