had a great time with the kids this morning. last time they came to surf was 5 years ago so they were much bigger and braver this time around.
paddling out and watching the smiles getting bigger and bigger.
i told the kids on the way out, “today is perfect! we are going to get some big waves!”
super stoked to see Yuuki-kun riding some good ones. all smiles on the waves, and bigger smiles on the paddle back out. this kid is only 12 years old!
then Rio-kun caught some good ones too. at 9 years old, i’m sure this kid is already hooked on surfing.
Yuuki-kun started off the day only going straight. then he started to turn right, then left. then by the end of the day, this kid was doing full bottom turns! amazing progress in just a few hours!
Rio-kun started off the same way and kept on getting better and better. some of the waves for him was well overhead and he wasn’t scared at all.
thank goodness Paul Teruya was out shooting the kids. today was totally perfect and a day none of the kids would want to forget. awesome photos Paul!
then went to eat some pho, bbq chicken, and kalbi. these kids were hungry!
meet the wonderful Aida-san family. a super polite and very kind family. a very happy day! keep enjoying hawaii!
then went to pick up Akane-san this afternoon and went deeper than ever. this was my view from the bottom of the sea. i loved it!
look good and you will see something weird? see it? it’s the freaking sunset!!!! another amazing ending to another amazing day!
