i had a long 12 hour layover in bali so i went walking around and exploring. pulled into a lot of street food venders and tried a little of everything.

this place was pretty good. ordered a nice plate of things i didn’t even know what it was.

looks yummy yeah?

then later, i went to this other place to try what they had. a total hole in the wall place where no tourists would ever take the chance. but hey, i don’t consider myself a tourist.

i get in and start pointing to things. the food looked and smelt very good.

so here was my plate for $2. rice, egg, meat, vegetables, and on weird piece of something on the right.

i wasn’t sure what this was???? looked and felt like a piece of a cows brain? anyway, i ate it all. it had an interesting taste.

then got to the busy airport filled with surfers and surfboards. that is when i started feeling weird. i was sweating, steaming hot, then all of a sudden chilling cold.

then i arrive at japan for another 12 hour layover. i had to camp out by the bathroom. i haven’t felt this way in my life. go from super feverish hot, to freezing cold. i held in there until my flight. one part of me was saying “check into a hotel, no way you will make it back like this.” another part was “no, you have to get home.” i was curled up into a ball when it was time to board the plane. right when i got to my seat, my stomach felt like it was going to blow up. shivering from the coldness with the sharpest stomach pain, i thought i was going to die. somehow i make it home, i visit the toilet a few more times before i get on the motorcycle. it was the scariest ride home for me because i was still shivering and my body was so weak. glad i didn’t crash. now i’m home and will detox my body the natural way. i know when i get into the ocean tomorrow, everything will be ok. but i’m glad the 2 days of traveling home is done. won’t be doing that again for a while.
