had to gas up and clean up Mayuki today. and to do that, it takes a lot of time, and more than that, a lot of money. the only place on the south shore to put gas is way down at sand island.
as i was going down there, i thought to myself “gosh, this is costing me a lot just to go and fill in gas. haha.
pulling up to the one and only gas stand for boats. it’s pretty windy here too so kind of tricky getting it in without hitting the dock.
this is where it takes time. not because the pumps are slow or anything, it’s because my tanks are pretty big.
one side at a time. yes, i have 2 tanks so have to do it one by one.
omg, $234 for one tank? multiply that by 2 and that’s how much it costs to fill up Mayuki. i should look for a gas company sponsor?
on the way back, i thought i’d go grab some fresh fathers day dinner. pulled up to one of my spots. it’s 40′ and murky. can’t see a thing until you dive 20′, then things start to clear up. i was telling my dive friend in molokai about this and he said “shit, you’re crazy.” and i didn’t tell him i dive this alone. and i’ve been diving old school style recently. no wetsuit or no weight belt. feels so free down there.
i drop down and see a munu for the steamer, and a papio for some sashimi. it’s crazy how i can see the fish on my dinner table before i even spear it. anyway, that was enough so i headed back. i learned in molokai to take only what you need.
then realized again and again how fortunate i am to have such a beauty like this. so i washed and waxed her up. blood, sweat, and tears.
and when it was all done, she was looking like the most beautiful thing in the world. it’s going to be an awesome summer! surf and dive hawaii! yeah! hope you had a wonderful Father’s Day!
