well, after a great start to our summer with waves pretty much everyday, somebody turned off the switch. the past few days, the south shore has been as small as it gets. maybe a lucky knee high wave? for surfers, that’s bad. for divers, that’s good. diving takes me into another world. i feel so relaxed and so free. speared some nice kumu’s, even shot a big ulna (GT) but it came off. ate some, gave some away. i was driving by the stadium park yesterday with some fish in my cooler. seen a homeless family living under a tree. i stopped my car, took out a big unicorn fish (kala), and gave it to them. they were so happy! so was i. for the past few years, i’ve been giving fish away to the homeless when i get a chance. it feels great seeing a smile when driving away. i hope to keep on doing it as long as i can catch fish.
for the next week? no swells coming so a great time to catch up on things like emails, work, photo selection, friends, and of course, FREE DIVING!
