had an amazing day! started off surfing with the 2 marathon ladies! i can’t believe they ran the marathon and still have energy to surf?
Emiko-san’s been surfing for a while so she was very comfortable in the water. perfect style and smile!
this was Akemi-san’s only 2nd time surfing! and she did amazingly great! a well balanced marathon runner!
as a photographer, this is always the shot i’m trying to get. two friends enjoying the ocean with absolutely nobody around. diamond head back, super sunny, and the perfect moment. a total priceless moment.
then once we came in, the storm approached. dark sky with wild west winds right behind. it got really ugly! lucky us!
then it was off to my favorite ramen in hawaii! a first for the ladies.
look how huge the bowls are! and yes, we ate it all! thank you Emiko-san and Akemi-san for the wonderful morning. you guys surfed great! happy running and happy surfing!

then i went to pick up Mai-chan and we went exploring hawaii. it was the perfect day for a hike up to heaven’s view. amazing photos coming.
so sad news. yesterday a 22 year old local girl went hiking up this mountain. she fell off the cliff and died. shocking. this was in my mind the whole time we were climbing up the mountain today. please hike safely everybody.
ended up at sandy beach this evening. the best waves on the island for sure. overhead and perfect offshore. enjoy your life to the fullest because it could end in a flash. good night.
