had an all day surf with Ray-kun so we started it off at diamond head. it was pretty dam good!
so stoked to see Ray-kun adapting to different waves and different situations. that’s huge in becoming a great surfer.
after 3 hours of surfing, we went to eat the tuesday special “mushroom chicken!” only $6.50 a plate. the cheapest plate lunch in town.
then i called my nephews and they told me where the were surfing. so i took Ray-kun there so he can see how the top hawaiian surfers train in hawaii. i gave him the binoculars and told him “watch everything they do!”
they were having mock heats and competing against each other. some good surfing went down. then Seth came out.
i introduced the boys to Ray-kun and he was trying to communicate with them. after we left, he told me he wished he could speak english so he could understand what they were telling him. hopefully he will try harder from now.
these are hawaii’s top young pros! i really like Joshua’s new hair style. he said Kelia did it. and i believe that. haha.
these kids are doing exactly what i use to do. go surf and go straight to golf after. Seth with the barefoot practice swing.
said bye to the boys and headed to sandy beach. waves were coming up and looking very good! so i had Ray-kun do 3 heats as i coached him from the beach.
many more photos from sandy beach coming tomorrow.
want to thank Masaru-san for the Jack Sinatra!
want to thank Kaneko-san for the snacks to go with my whisky.
and for the japanese foods to put over my hot rice.
and also want to thank Kaneko-san for the gift for Mateus. i can’t wait to give it to him!
i’ve been seeing a lot of people wearing the sharkbanz. it supposed to detract sharks away. i tell my friends “if the shark is going to bite you, it’s going to bite you. that little band won’t help.”
and this young kid from florida will tell you the same thing. he got one for christmas and the shark bit him while he was wearing it. now his mother wants a refund. i’m surprised there isn’t a lawsuit coming.
