introduced Ray-kun to one of my super local surf friend. David Kawada and i are super alike in how we surf everywhere on this island. we don’t consider ourselves local at any particular spot. we surf the best spot on the best day and that’s where we’ll find each other. simple.
paddling out at diamond head is always cool. the natural surroundings is just so amazing.
following Ray-kun on a very long right!
this kid is very smart. i give him advise here and there and he takes it and applies it instantly. this is a very nice bottom turn.
then we went to sandy’s in the afternoon. this is the hardest spot to surf on the island. i remember when Kelly Slater came here for the first time. my local friend beat him in the first round of a contest and made Kelly look like a beginner. i was telling Ray-kun that story and we were laughing.
the water here is super clean. you don’t even need a mask.
can you believe there was only one of my local friend and Ray-kun out at one time? it was the three of us sharing wave after wave. this is as empty you will ever see Sandy Beach in your lifetime!
Ray-kun surfing better and better after figuring out the wave. look how beautiful it was!
smart kid and great surfer. keep on surfing Ray-kun! i had a great time surfing with you at haleiwa, laniakea, diamond head, and sandy beach! go back to japan and remember what you learned here in hawaii.
sandy beach is very shallow. look what happened to my board when i pulled out of a wave. omg!
