it’s always better to save the best for the last, and the last was the best. day 3, the powder couldn’t have been any better. just some good friends enjoying the mountain. surfing side by side yelling like little kids. it was so classic.
and yes, the powder was deep and as good as it gets. speeding through the trees, it feels like you’re floating on foam. here is Hayato waiting for the rest of the boys to pass. have to keep on eye on each other because if you get lost off the track like this, you may never be found. i totally understand why so many people die in the mountains each year.
want to really thank Takahashi-san for keeping an eye on me all the time. if it wasn’t for him, i’d probably still be in the mountain frozen under the snow.
nice breakfast before departure back to the city.
thanks to all the snow surfing boys. you guys made my trip feel like a dream. and thanks for all coming and seeing us off at the bus station. true japanese warriors!
good to see Kimura-san smiling a lot on this trip. and good to see him trying out new things. he said he won’t ever snowboard again, but that’s what i always say too. for some reason, the snow will always call us back.
and a great buzz with Jack “Sinatra” Daniels. on the rocks and so smooth!
when i get back to hawaii, i’m going to sip on some of this and listen to the song “My Way.”
i had a blast playing in the snow. had 3 very dangerous moments when i flipped head over and landed on my shoulder. thought i broke it. but got back up and kept on going. next time i should be a little careful but it’s hard to do when you’re having so much fun!
