i want to thank from the bottom of my heart to the teachers Mrs. Oshiro, Mrs. Hatakenaka, and to all the children at Hokulani Elementary School. the kids from grade 1-5 wrote the most heartwarming letters to the kids in japan that were affected by the earthquake and tsunami. i am honored to take these precious letters and hand it over personally to the kids in tohoku. i’m sure the will be happy!
this is what school teaches you. to be neat, to be organized, and to be giving. i’m impressed by the teachers of this great school.
i went through a few letters and had to stop because it got pretty emotional. you have kids from the ages 6-10 pouring their little hearts out. they put in their hard work in coloring, and hard work in words of encouragement. it’s amazing.
We are all in this together. from 4th grader Anela of Hokulani.
I love okonomiyaki? haha. these kids are soooooo cute!!!!
once again, thank you to all of you who wrote these precious letters for the kids in japan. we will be visiting 2 elementary schools on july 26th in ishinomaki. if there are any other schools in the tohoku area that would like us to visit, please email me and i’ll do my best to go there. my goal is to connect the hawaii kids with the japan kids. why? because WE ARE ONE! and like little Alela said “WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.”
