good morning. it’s been a while since i went to the honolulu advertiser website to check out what’s going on back home. great news!!!! hawaii won the LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL WORLD SERIES!!!! that’s huge news. hawaii is world champions. i was watching the olympics on tv and watched the japan baseball team get smoked. hey, i thought they were favored to win the gold medal? what happened? i was kind of bummed out at that but i guess that’s part of competition. you win some, you lose some. getting back to hawaii, how big is that for our kids? huge. maybe a lot of kids will get inspired to play TEAM sports. surfing is pretty much individual, which sucks. i use to hate competing against my friends. i grew up playing baseball so i was always a team player. anyway, wanted to congratulate the kids of waipio for bringing the gold to hawaii… by the way, japan got 3rd place. that’s pretty big news too….
**i finally got to download some clips i took off my video. it was the last day of our outer island experience. i free dove this secret spot 6 years ago and i couldn’t believe how clean the water and how much fish i seen. i must have told that story to a lot of people but only half probably believed me. or less. so here it is. it was our last day and i was surfed out so i went for a swim. swam under the guys surfing, and went to the 30′ depth to check out this ledge. if i had my spear, i could have filled a big cooler in an hour. that’s how many fish there were. travelly’s swimming up to me, huge humphead uhu’s all over the place, and all kind of shells too. even though i didn’t have my spear, that day was a dive in my top 10 of all times. now you will see why i love the underwater world. there’s no place like it….
