stayed up late last night watching Joshua ripping at the contest in South Africa. he won his heat and beat some top guns!
and his interview always so classic. just a pure Hawaiian kid with a big heart.
then i woke op this morning and saw Joshua on the Hawaii news! so stoked!
last nights Nao-san sunset shot. amazing.
got up bright and early this morning for one of the longest days of my life. picked up Dr. Sato-san and Dr. Inotomi-san. since there was no parking at Ala Moana, we took Mayuki and there was plenty of parking in the free ocean! surfed Bowls and had a wonderful time!
ate lunch at the yacht club. lots of laughs in our surfers conversation.
then went to pick up the 3 young boys for the afternoon session. Kawabata-san, Nishio-san, and Yoshida-san lucked out because the only way to surf today was on Mayuki.
i had my cooler full of beers for tonights fireworks show so i offered the boys a cold one.
it was full swing on this fourth of July. everybody having a great holiday!
then went to pick up Nao-san and went to check out the Flotilla. it was absolutely crazy!
we pulled up to this catamaran watching about 40 underage kids drinking alcohol. later in the day, we seen police everywhere escorting this boat back to the harbor. then more police waiting there. hundreds ended up getting rescued, and 10 were taken to the hospital. it’s that crazy!
then went for an evening session with Nao-san. gosh, the waves were super perfect all day. this was round 3 and i couldn’t believe i still had enough energy to have so much fun.
then went back in to pick up my family and friends for a wonderful fireworks show. this was by far the best of the best fireworks show i’ve ever seen. and everybody there agreed. left home at 7am, came back at 10:30pm. a long but amazing day. good night!
