i’m still so amazed by the people of tohoku. their strength, and their kindness. 2 nights ago, we were all taken in at the Hashitate-san house. a classic old style japanese house that had hundreds of years of history. i still have do download the photos. stay tuned.
then last night, we were taken in by the Kimura-san house.
meet the wonder women of Hebita, Ishinomaki. i leaned so much on this table last night. the stories shared from march 11th till today made me realize that if you are strong like these ladies, you can overcome anything in life. i have no idea how our team kept in our tears. i know that when i go back to hawaii and absorb everything, i’ll cry many rivers. i better go now before i break down.
To the Hashitate Family and Kimura Family,
We all appreciate what you’ve done for us.
Welcoming us into your homes and sharing your stories is something I will never forget. The great food, the warm futons, your kindness, and your courage is what keeps our team going.
I feel like I have 2 more families in this world.
Let’s keep on going strong and let’s keep in touch.
I cherish every moment with you!
Aloha from the We Are One team.
